Many patient who have thyroid hormone problems have constipation or other GI symptoms. The symptoms may include reflux, heartburn, gas, bloating, indigestion, diarrhea, and constipation.
While medication can be prescribed to reduce symptoms, if a person has low cellular levels of thyroid hormone (cellular hypothyroidism), they are likely to develop a number of disorders and diseases including Hashimoto’s disease.
The doctors discuss many aspects regarding the connection between hypothyroidism, autoimmunity, SIBO, and a number of related symptoms and disorders. They discuss the high probability of hypothyroid sufferers developing GI tract dysfunction.
